Early Life
Mahomes is the son of the former MLB pitcher Pat Mahomes. He played football, baseball and basketball in high school and played college football at Texas Tech.
Career
The Chiefs drafted him tenth overall in 2017. After a year as a backup he won the 2018 NFL MVP Award, and he won it again in 2022. He led Kansas City to victories in Super Bowls LIV, LVII and LVIII, earning Super Bowl MVP each time. In 2020 he signed a 10-year, $450 million extension, then the largest contract in sports history.
Legacy
Mahomes became a part-owner of the Kansas City Royals and Sporting Kansas City, and is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks of his generation.
